Why Is It Worth Attending in the Railway Rolling Stock Congress 2026?
The Railway Rolling Stock Congress will be a practical and content‑driven event dedicated to all individuals and companies operating in the passenger and freight rolling stock market. We will discuss the development and investment plans of leading passenger and freight operators, the possibilities and models for financing rolling stock investments, the challenges of maintaining and servicing railway rolling stock, as well as the technical capabilities for its modernization. Our discussions will cover not only the current state of the rolling stock market, but also its future. The sector is entering a major transformation driven by the implementation of FRMCS, the autonomy and digitalization of rolling stock control, innovative solutions for technical condition monitoring and vehicle maintenance (predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, digital twins), and new technologies for freight rolling stock (DAC, smart wagons, telemetry). We will explore these innovations and discuss the perspectives and benefits of their deployment — and consider how they will reshape the railway transport market.
Certification, interoperability, and safety remain key issues for the rolling stock sector. Therefore, we will dedicate a separate thematic block to these topics, discussing the certification and homologation of rail vehicles, the technical and functional safety of rolling stock, key standards and systems (CENELEC, SIL, MMS, SMS), as well as the obligations of users and keepers of rail vehicles.
The Congress is designed to be a place of inspiration, knowledge exchange, presentation of achievements, and the development of business and social connections.
